Hello, I'm Astrid Rothaug– a visual artist, writer and animation filmmaker based in Vienna. I love interdisciplinary storytelling, blurring boundaries between painting, filmmaking and writing, so- exploring this website- you'll find acrylic paintings as well as drawings, prints and 2D animated films. I made sure to make some films available for free here on my website, so take a look!

For the past years I received various awards for my animations, my films have screened at festivals such as Fantoche, Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, Diagonale, Animateka and many more and were also broadcasted and distributed in Germany, France and Austria on platforms such as ARTE and ORF, check out my bio for more info.
